Monitoring
Object
Populations of many fern species appear to be declining, but there is no reliable data. The aim of this subject area is therefore to create a large number of standardized monitoring areas in order to know where and how many individuals of which species currently occur. These areas provide the basis for observing future changes.
Activities
– Creation of monitoring areas of 100 m x 100 m.
Products
– Registration of at least 5000 areas throughout Switzerland by 2031.
– Exact documentation of the occurrence of ferns as a basis for future comparisons.
How can you participate?
– Join our monitoring field trips to learn how. You can then independently record other areas in your residential area, on excursions or on vacation.
